I have told this story hundreds of times. I met Jordan Auten, founder of Yoniswell, and dear friend of mine now, on my old street in Miracle Mile, Los Angeles. She lived on the same street as me! Wild. I would see her go by in her Tacoma truck with her surfboard hanging out the back and her dog, Rusty. I was thinking, “who is this girl?!” I wanted to know her and get a new surf buddy. I had a ton of time on my hands as I had just been laid off during the pandemic and needed friends in the neighborhood who would trek to the beach with me. I saw her walking one day near my apartment and introduced myself. The rest is history!
Fast forward to present day, 4 years later, we’ve surfed together countless numbers of times. We’ve spent countless hours of of time together. We have led three surf yoga retreats in Nicarauga with world class waves and local instructors, sharing the stoke with everyone who participated with us. We have traveled to Hawaii together to experience the waves but also to lay some of my mother's ashes to rest in the ocean off the North Shore. We are about to lead another retreat in El Salvador in February and experience another new country together. We are also collaborators professionally and have worked together on photoshoots for brands and content creation. It never feels like work! What a blessing for me to have this in my life and for Yoniswell and Jordan to have supported my vision for this apparel line from its inception.
Here are a few of my favorite moments we have had together, and I’m thrilled for more to come. You can find out more about Yoniswell here on this link. I hope it can impact your life as much as it has mine.
